I am a non-denominational wine drinker. I like them all: sparkling, white, red, dry, sweet, and yes, I love my Rosé wines. However, there is more Rosé wine flooding into the markets today than ever before and the majority offered is cheap and weak. All you have to do is step up to the $12-$15 price range and you can find beautifully crafted , estate bottled, Rosé wines from around the globe.
Today’s selection is Château Mourgues du Grès – Les Galets Rosé 2018 from a region in southern France, called Costières de Nîmes. The wine has brilliant, intense medium rosé color and expressive aromas of ripe strawberries, cherries, with the slightest hint of orange zest. The flavors are similar to the aromatics but show good medium bodied richness along with some nice minerality to pull it all together. Cerified Organic It paired perfectly with my Aunt Barbara’s Salmon Salad. A perfect example of how good rosé wine can be.
