The 2017 Domaine La Tour Boisée ‘une histoire de famille’ is a lovely little gem from the south of France. While there is a lot of bulk wine produced from this region, there are plenty that deserve your attention. This is a definite qualifier. This wine is from the appellation Minervois and the vineyards are in the foothills of the Pyrénées Mountains, the range that separates France from Spain.
Equal parts Syrah and Grenache, the wine is quite dark in color. Aromas are juicy cherry and blueberry with an inviting note of licorice and garrigue. Very pure flavors. Really soft and smooth with medium concentration of cherry and blueberry compote but not at all over ripe. Good acidity and balance give the wine a very supple finish. Would pair well with grilled meats. A really delicious wine at a ridiculous price of approx. $15. A Wine Under the Radar for sure. Estate bottled wine, Great Value, and Certified Organic to boot!
