Sometimes I’m in the mood for a nice easy red to enjoy on an early summer evening. Something with character, balance and finesse. Sounds like a simple task but more often than not I am disappointed by recommended wines. Tonight, I brought up a wine from the cellar that was suggested by a good friend and it was right on the money – a nice little Wines Under the Radar.
The Francesco Rinaldi E Figli Grignolino d’Asti 2017 is a beautiful, brilliant medium/light ruby color. Tangy, dried red fruit aromatics that persist throughout the lovely, light, and juicy palate. Very well balanced and pure with a nice touch of acidity on the back end. Just an incredibly delicious wine and for $17-$20, a perfect summer or red. Tonight, Wines Under the Radar = Fun!
