Well, anyone who has read my social media wine posts know that I am a sucker for both wines from Beaujolais and Rosé from just about everywhere. So when my local wine merchant recommended a Rosé made from Gamay I was pretty much sold. I was a bit hesitant at the $27 price tag but I truly had no alternative. I can report that this Gamay Rosé from El Dorado County, California was delicious.
The Jolie-Laide Gamay Rosé ‘Witters Vineyard’ 2020 is a beautiful onion skin color with airy aromatics of strawberry and some light citrus notes. The wine spreads out across the palate with more depth of flavor adding subtle hints of mint and minerality to the lovely fresh fruit. I am hoping other 2020 Rosé are of the same outstanding quality. Only one way to find out…………..
