I am staring into the abyss of a simmering pot of meatballs and gravy on the stove. I am not only feeling a pang of hunger, I’m also getting quite thirsty. It just so happens I have an Italian Cabernet Franc from Friuli waiting for just such an occasion.
The Luisa Cabernet Franc 2017 is deep ruby in color with aromas of dried flowers, herbs, black cherry and a hint of tobacco as it opened up in the glass. Flavors were medium-bodied notes of berries and herbs. Very smooth and satisfying (good balance) with some staying power. This is a $16 beauty. Wines Under the Radar and our meatballs thank you.
