Rebholz Riesling ‘von Muschelkalk’ Spatlese Trocken 2007

Yesterday, our daughter, Taryn, informed us she would be handling dinner duties this evening and she rocked the house. Korean Barbeque Seitan with Mushrooms topped with Sesame Asian Slaw. Suffice it to say the kitchen was awash in aromas barbeque sauce and sesame. Honestly, this was a screaming delicious vegetarian (vegan) meal. The wine was the selection of the Chef de Jour and she ascended from the cellar with the Rebholz Riesling ‘von Muschelkalk’ Spatlese Trocken 2007.  The wine was sensational!

Brilliant golden in color the wine had explosive aromatics of pineapple, mango, and a kiss of lime. Nice spicy notes and minerality were also noticeable on the nose. Complex flavors of spice, petrol, pineapple and hint of apricot. All the while, this wine showed great balance and integrity. It also worked perfectly with our dinner. An impressive Wines Under the Radar –  Up From the Cellar Selection!
