Searching my local, big box, wine shop the other day, I came across the above noted wine. I know Roagna is an elite Barbaresco producer so I figured it would be worth a shot. It turned out to be a sensational value at $18. I drank this beauty with some eggplant parmigiana and it worked perfectly.
A serious rendition of Dolcetto d’Alba that opened up over the course of our meal. The wine had a deep-plum like color. Aromas and flavors leaned toward dark cherry and licorice but the purity of the flavors was what set this wine apart. Tannins are present but are totally balanced with the fruit concentration. Another delicious Wine Under the Radar.
